Biography
Ricardo Siri, better known as Liniers, is an Argentine cartoonist, illustrator, painter, and publisher best known as the creator of Macanudo, the acclaimed daily comic strip published since 2002 in the newspaper La Nación and internationally through syndication. Over the years, his work has been collected in dozens of books and translated into multiple languages. In 2012, he received a Diploma of Merit in Visual Arts from the Konex Foundation, and in 2014 he was declared an Outstanding Personality in the Field of Culture by the Buenos Aires City Legislature. In 2018, he won an Eisner Award for Best Publication for Early Readers for his book Buenos días, planeta, as well as the Inkpot Award. In 2021, he received the Reuben Award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip from the National Cartoonists Society. In recent years, Liniers has continued to publish new Macanudo collections, including titles released in 2025, while an animated series based on Macanudo is currently in development. He lives and works in Vermont, USA.
